HARBOUR BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board, held last evening, was attended by Messrs. R. Fletcher (chairman), C. W. Jones, W. T. Hildreth, J. W. M'Ewan, J. G. Harkncss, C. E. Daniell,. M. Cohen, H. C. Tewsley, and the Hon. T. K. Macdonald.. Leave of absence was granted Mr. T. M. Wilford.

The following bank balances were reported Current account, debit balance, •£23,414 13s. 2d.; imprest account, credit balance, .£9G3 7s. 3d.; on fixed deposit, .2111,100.

Payments as follow were authorised:— Accounts and wages, ,£10,007 lis.; progress payments on contracts, ,£7151 175.; salaries for November, ,£BB2 12s. lid.; total, ,£18,012 os. lid.

On the recommendation of the Wharves and Accounts Committee, the board re-, solved: To approve plans for Contract No. 162,' extension of Waterloo Quay cul-. verts and to call for tenders for the work. To grant transfer of foreshore License No.'7G,fyacht slip, Balena Bay, from Mr. W. G. Young to Messrs.Forbes and Bothamley. To consent to the proposed erection by the Miramar Borough Council of a low protecting i wall along the seaward side of Marine Parade, Seatoun, subject to the approval of the Governor-in-Council, all costs in the matter to be borne by the Miramar Borough Council. To grant the application of the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association . for one. month's extension of the time already granted for use of J-. and XT stores for exhibition purposes in 1911. The chairman reported from the'board in committee as follows: —Resolved: To increase the schedule of wages of the office staff from the third to the eleventh years of service, both inclusive, by the amounts approved by the committee and set out in the amended schedule. That a bonus of ,£25 be paid to Mr. A. G. Barnett (confidential clerk) for. extra services rendered during the past nine months.
