PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Special Correspondent.) ■ Palmerston, November • 23. A successful garden fete and sale of v.-qrk was held this afternoon at All Saints' Vicarage grounds, and at tho Sunday Schoolroom this evening. The proceeds will bo devoted towards renovating the vicarage before the incoming of the new vicar, who is to succeed Archdeacon Harper. Mr. and Jfrs. Potts; of the United Mission, and friends paid a visit to tho Palmerston Hospital this week, and gave a .number of musical items, which were greatly' appreciated by tho patients and staff. Mr. and Mrs. W. L., Fitzherbcrt, of Palmerston, left by tho Auckland express yesterday, en routo for Sydney, where they propose to spend a holiday. Tho Dresden Piano Company has presented a gold medal, valued at ,£3 35., for competition at tlw band contest hero next February. It has been left to tho local committeo to allot the gift.
Tho local Technical School holds its breaking up ceremony on Friday evening, when nrizes will be presented.
