CANADIAN LOYALTY CHALLENGED. By Telegraph—Pros? Association-Copyright. Ottawa, November 22. A stormy debate took place on the Address-in-Reply on tlio Canadian House of Commons. Tlio recent defeat of Sir Wilfrid Laurier's naval policy in the Quebec province was utilised by the Conservatives to attack the Administration. Sir Wilfrid Laurier quoted from a pamphlet, showing the horrors of conscription, and said tho arguments therein had been used by Mr. Drummond in a by-elcction for Athabasca. Ho demanded tho namo of tho writer. Mr. P. D. Honk, Leader of tlio Opposition, . replied . that Sir Wilfrid Laurier should quote a Liberal speaker, who had declared that "tho Canadian Navy will be available to pound England if she troubles us." The speaker was interrupted by cries of "You lie!" ■ Confusion followed. Sir W. Laurier disclaimed any knowledge of tho incident, and declared that Canada was bound to maintain preference to. Britain in spite of reciprocity with the United States.
