.WHEN WILL THE SESSION END?
Those, members who expected that the session would conclude this week had itheir hopes' shattered as the result of a statement by the Prime Minister in the House:-of Representatives yesterday afternoon;;. In reply- to' a' question by Mr. Jennings, as to when it ,was intended to take the remaining local Bills, Sir Joseph Ward said: "Monday morning at 10.30 j'clock. I don't -see how we can take them before."
Mr. Jennings next suggested; that an ihour might be devoted for tho purpose this week. He added that a number of -witnesses wero. in. Wellington; in regard 'to the Bills. -
Sir Joseph Ward-then said.ihat thero Uras a lot of work on tho order paper to be got through. Ho had hoped that the session would conclude , this week, but jhe now found that it would be, utterly impossible for this to bo done.

. Sir Joseph Ward: 'No. I don't want to be put in the position of being acmised of driving Members. A good , deal of nonsensical talk had taken place on that.subject. For the sake of a few days, te did not want to be. put in such a position. Formerly, when he had . exr ipedited business for the convenience ■ pf members,-it was used, for, political purposes against tho Administration. :In the course of further remarks, Sir feeph Ward. said : that there was no. need for. witnesses in connection with the Bills, jjs they, had passed through the Local Bills Committee. If the House so dosired it could sit on. Saturday, morning to consider them.
