SEPTUAGENARIAN'S DEED.
(By Tclc£rapli.-Pres3 Association.) •Dunedin, ifevember 21. it the Supremo Court, Walter Kinney, aged 72 years, was charged with wilfully damaging a calf belonging 'to Alexander Stivens, at Kongatiere, by shooting it with a gun. Tho jury returned a verdict of guilty, with 'a recommendation, to mercy on the ground of accuseds ago; and that he did not appreciate the seriousness of his action, »ml m<l taken, a wrong view of the proper way of getting redress. Accused was admitted to probation for twelve months, on condition that the weapons (rifle and shotgnn) and ammunition in his possession bo handed to the police during that time Accused was also-ordered to pay £10 towards the cost of tho prosecution. ■■',
