LAUNCH RACING.
The first launch race of the season was held under the auspices of the Port Nicholson Motor. Boat Club on Saturday afternoon. The race brought out. eight starters, and the state of the soa oiiittd the little.craft.. The starting times of the launches nro as follow-.—Tender 3 p.m., Manie 3hr.. H-min., Manutai, 3hr. 21min. 1 Puriri 3hr, 28min., : Veronica 3hr. r3omin. Ilex: 3hr. 31min., Scotia 3hr, 31inin M Defence launch 3h'r'..4lmin., Afniari 3hr. Mrnin. The. race was twice round the club's ..course. •■■ While, on .the time round, Mr. Palmer's .lauuchj 'W.iiari, hroko down, and' was 1 delayed for about seven minutes.
