THE NEW LICENSING LAW.
TO-NIGHT'S MEETING. The largo amount of interest aroused by tlie announcement of to-night's meeting in the Town (Concert) Hall on the now licensing law may be taken to show that the New Zealand Alliance has acted wisely in taking this early opportunity of expounding the new position. A good deal of misconception apparently prevails as to what tho now law really is. In the hands of eo experienced a leader of the party, arid so capable a speaker as Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., the whole question should bo effectively denlt with" from the Alliance standpoint. . The gains. to tho Temperance party will be explained, whilst the demands still ungranted will bo emphasised. The Rev. Arthur Dewdney, chairman of the' New Zealand Alliance Executive, will preside.
