KAISER'S SPEECH CRITICISED.
THE MONARCHY AND THE RELIGIOUS ORDERS. ■ By Telegraph—Prose Association—Conyrlirht. ■ Berlin, November 18. The Liberal newspaper "Berliner Tagcblatt," discussing the address recently given by the Kaiser at tho Benedictine Monastery at Beuren, Prussia, in the course of which his Majesty declared that tho twentieth.century had brought ideas which could only bo effectively combated with the help of religion, asks how far tho connection between tho monarchy and tho religious orders had helped Portugal or was likely to help Spain. The address has also been adversely criticised by other papers.
