RISE IN AUCKLAND PROPERTY.
CENT PEE CENT IN FIVE YEAES. ;By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent) Auckland, November 20. . For some time past there has been, a marked activity in the property market in Karangaliape Road. It is reported that during the last ten days eight properties have changed hands , at upwards of JE3O,ODO. In all cases good prices were obtained. The recent sales' were in the block between Liverpool Street and the Caledonian Hotel. This block is occupied almost exclusively by residences at the present time, and the fact that shops will shortly be erected there might be taken to indicate that business is at last spreading to the Symonds Street end of Newton's great thoroughfare. The opening of tho Grafton Bridge is said to have enhanced this section of the road as a business centre. Speaking'of land values generally, our informant states .that; the value of property in part of this rising thoroughfare has increased 100 per -cenfc in five years.
