CONTEMPT OF COURT.
— $ AN -ALLEGED CONFESSION. By Telegraph-Press Association-CoiyriEM. . (Rec. November 18, 9.30 p.m.) .> Sydney, November 18. The Fuji. Court has adjudged tho "Daily Telegraph" and tie "Evening News" guilty of contempt of Court in publishing what purported to be a confession by Senkovitch) at present confined in Darlington, - on a charge of murdering Eismoad, ,at Bourke. ' The Chief Justice, in delivering judgment,' expressed tho opinion that the confession "was calculated to prejudice Senkovitch in tho eyes of the public, from whom the jury to try him would be chosen. .- Mr. Justice .Cohen and Mr. justice Streot concurred. Each paper .was .fined £100 and costs. Similar" proceedings initiated against the "Sunday Times" and "Melbourne Age" have been' abandoned. ■ : •
