In consequence of the Commonwealth refusing to participate in the "Festival of Empire" to be held-in London, next year,: the Earl of Plymouth,'head of the Festival Executive, is approaching' tho Agents-General with a view to the various States utilising the' offer of a large' free' Fpace. The utmost cost would be £20,000, to cover expense of j lighting.; Lord Plymouth does not desire-that Australia .alone of the Dominions should not bo'represented at the Festival, and has offered' to become personally responsible for £7000, the cost of tho erection of a. building which would be a copy of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Buildings.
