$ THE COUNCIL. TAIEBI LAND DRAINAGE. When the Legislative Council- met at 2.30 yesterday afternoon, the Public Petitions Committee on the. Taieri Land Drainage Bill brought down' its report winch recommended that the Bill be allowed to proceed. STONE QUARRIES BILL. A message was received from the House or Representatives requesting a conference with the Council in regard to-one of the amendments made in the Stone Quarries Bill. A committee of managers, consisting of the Hons. Dr. Findlay, J.vE Jenkinson, and J. T. Paul, was appointed to confer with the managers appointed by the House of Representatives GAMING BILL. The Gaming Amendment Bill was put through Committee with several amendments (reported elsewhere), and was read a third time and passed. I'he Council rose at 10 p.m.
