RAILWAYS AUTHORISATION.
i THIS YEAR'S LIST.' A Bill was introduced in the House of Representatives last evening by Governor's Message, to authorise tho following new sections of lines:— 7 (1) North Auckland (formerly known as the Helensyille-northwards railway), an extension to H'Carroll's Gap, distance ten miles. (2) Kaipara-TVaikato (Huntly-Awaroa branch), a branch lino from Huntly station towards Papepe parish, distance about three miles. (3) East Coast: (1) From the end of the line as at present authorised at Te Puke to Paengnroa, distance about fivo miles; (2) from Gisborne southwards, distance about twenty-six miles.- ■ (4). Foxton-New Plymouth, a deviation of about one mile sis chains on the northern side of the present line. i (5) Picton-Hurunui: (1) An extension to a point about ono milo south of .the Xjro River, distance about thrca and-a quarter miles; (2) an up the Leader River Valley for about six miles. -
