QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S MISTRESS OF THE ROBES.
The appointment of the Duchess 'of Buccleuch as Mistress of the Robes in Queen Alexandra's Household is specially interesting, for it was generally ljolioveil that her Grace had decided to retire from the Court on the death of the late Sovereign, says "MA.P." ■ .. There is no question but that tho Duchess desired to do so, but Queen Alexandra wished to mako as fen- changes as possible in her Household, and at her Majesty's special request, her Grace has' accepted the position which she occupied at Court for so many years in tho lato reign. . Her Grace, however, will: bo relieved from attending to • tho secretarial work in connection with her -office;';'which will bo .dono by MissUCnollys,- and which will bo specially heavy before the Coronation. ■ The Duchess will now, of course, continue to -be- Queen Alexandra's first Lady-in-Waiting at all Stato ceremonies as heretofore.
