Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited,, Palmerston North branch, report:—At our Feilding sale on Friday we had a small entry of sheep, but a, good yarding of cattle, • all - : of • which changed hands at prices as below:—Sheep: Ewe hoggets,' 14s. id.; wether hoggets, 155.; good ewe hoggets, i7s. 6d. Cattle:-Empty cows, £3 2s. sd. to £3 45.; backward springing £5 2s. 6d. to £5 10s.; 15 to 17-months Hereford heifers, £3 Is.; yearling steers, to £3 10s. 6d.; cows with mlvcs, £3 175.; light tat heifers, £4 35.; Hereford bulls, to £6 10s. In conjunction with Messrs.' Gorton and Son, we also sold fat cow 3 on account of Mr. E. Short,, at.£6 Bs. to £6 17s. Messrs. Dalgety and Company report:— it our Wanganui sale yesterday we yarded 100 sheep and 350 cattle, but have to report a poor attendance and a dull sale, the bulk, of the yarding being passed at auction. However, wo succeeded in quitting all the sheep beroro the close of the day, but the bulk of the cattle- went out unsold. A drop in all classes was noticeable in cattle, especially in two-year steers and forward bullocks. l?o quote:—Mixed woolly fat sheep, 195.; fat shorn ewes, 135.; two-tooth ewes, 125.; two-tooth wethers, LOs. 9d.; mixed two-tooths, 125.; ewes and lambs, 15s. to 16s. 6d.; shorn do., 9s. 7a.; ampty ewes, 9s. 2d.; cull woolly hoggets, Is. 6d.; fat and forward bullocks, four and five-year-old, £7 Bs. 6d. to £7 145.; two-year steers, £4; 18-month do., £3 10s. o £3 13s. 6d.; yearling do., £1 175., £2 10s., to £3 25.; poor-conditioned cows and calves, £3 35.; store, cows, £2 125., ,£3,25., £3 35., to £3 75.; yearling heifers, to £3; Jersey heifer in milk, £10 155.; pedigrco Jerssy bull, 15gns.; dairy cows, to £5 55.. Messrs. Abraham and- Williams, Ltd., report:—At Levin on Tuesday we offered a number of dairy stock, consisting of 13 :ows, 32 -heifers" (to calvo December and January), 8 yearlin heifers, and 3 bulls on account of the Wereroa experiment farm. Ail the stock wub in excellent condition, and excited keen competition. There was a large attendance, and buyers were present from * outside districts, ar.d every animal was sold under the hammer. The 13 cows made from £9 ss. to £16, averaging £12 per head. The 32 heifers in calf made from £6 ta £14 155., averaging ' £8 per head. ..The-yearling heifers made from £3 12s. 6d. to £5 12s. 6d., and . averaged £4 15s. The three bulls made- £11, £15, and £28.
