FLOWER SHOW.
The annual spring show of tho.Rose and Carnation Club will take place at the Town Hall this afternoon and evening, when 'a fine display is anticipated, tho exhibition. should be well patronised by the general public as well as enthusiasts in flower culture. The entries are a record'for-any show yet promoted by'tho club, niu'nhig into twenty entries in some of tho roseclasses. Ladies' .decorated tables havo always been a popular item, and on. this occasion some eighteen ladies will he competing. This event is decided by the popular vote of the public. Lady Ward has kindly.consented to perform the opening .ceremony at 3 p.m. Mr. J. G. Davis, of Christchurcli, is to judge the exhibits.. As usual, tho ladies,will provide the afternoon tea, and a' string band' will .• play selections throughout the day.
