FATAL BOXING BOUT.

A boxing contest, between Fogarty , and AValsh, took place in the Athletic . Club last night. Fogarty collapsed after the ninth round, and died to-day ' without regaining consciousness. The i cause of death is supposed to be concussion of the brain. 3 Fogarty took part in a contest on October 24, when what was to have been a 10-round bout between Levy and Fogarty . came to an abrupt conclusion in .the '. second round. Fogarty' landed a hard 1 short right on levy's jaw, and, after the break. Levy collapsed. The referee (Sir. J. Nicholls) said that Levy had gone . down without being hit, but he was hit hard. Instead of falling at once, ha collapsed after the clinch.
