J ho District Boy Scout Committee has decided to postpone tho tournament «-liicli it bad arranged to hold on the show grounds at -an carlv date, till i'eoniary. The reason for this decision is .that tho first date fixed upon 'was rather close to a similar function to bo held at Feilding, and with which it was thought the Palmerston fixture might clash. The special services at St. Patrick's Uiurch, over which Monsignor Gillan, of Auckland, presided, concluded today. N At * he , annual meeting of the Linton lirffle Club last night (Mr. HuMi Akers, president, in the chair), the following officers wore elected for the ensuing ycar:--Patron, Mr. S. Greer; president, n ~, Al:ers ' vice-president, Mr. W. Randall; committee, Messrs. J. Picker- \", B '?V £ ewth > '"id J- Barr; secretary, ni H - al;cr - Mess rs. R. M'Nab, H. Baker, G. Needham, and F. H: Cooko wore elected members. During tho evening the retiring secretary, Mr. A. turner, was presented with "a case of pipes, as a mark of tho appreciation of members for his services to tho club. r> , rP- RoD ortson, of the Savings Lank Department of the. Palmerston lost Office, has been.transferred to Ohristchurch. Mr. Robertson was instrumental in inaugurating the Amateur Athletic Club here, and, as secretary, made it a success.
