VOGELTOWN RATEPAYERS.
A, meeting of the Vogeltowni Resident Ratepayers' Association was heldat Mr. Jackson's residence, Vogeltown, last evening, Mr. J. D. Hewitt being in tho chair. It was resolved to hold the election of officers, and other general business over until next Tuesday evening.. It .was decided that it bo a recommendation to the incoming committee that the subscription in future be 2s. 6d. The secretary was instructed to forward a list of children resident in. the district and to ask the Education Board to receive a deputation to urge the provision s of a school. There were about 100 children in the district. It. was stated at the meeting that resident's ofE. W. Mills Road and Crawford Street had been'asked to defray' the cost of laying, 'a water main while a resident of Fortunotus Street had been supplied free of cost. In the ■latter caso tho water pipes had been carried about 400 yards. . The secretary was instructed to write, to the City Council asking for an explanation.
