Tho monthly meeting of tho Eastboruno Borough Council was held on Saturday evening. Present: Tho Ifayor (Mr. H. "W. Shortt), Councillore l'oley,. M'Kcnzio, Orpan, Kobortson, Ross, Russell, Sanson, Wills, and the Town Clerk (Mr. ,T. D. Avcry). Tho Town Clerk stated that Mr. Mestayer would havo his report upon water [ supply, sewerage, and drainage ready next week. It was decided to consider tho report at a special meeting. With regard to the Hutt pipe bridge, tho Town Clerk was directed to write io tho effect that unless a proper approach U> the bridge from Eastbonrno side is constructed, tho Eaetbourno borough cannot contribute anything further, to tho cost of tho bridge. It w«s resolved that the Eastbourne borough contribute ita proportion of rates on tho Hutt Park on a valuation bntsis as botwoon tho throe controlling bodies. Councillor Roborteou dissented. ' ... . Messrs. Izard ni«l Wcston wrote offering, on behalf of Mr. Bavtolo Russo, cariaui beach lands for jC3OO. Tho Mayor and Councillors Organ, Robertson, and Wills wero appointed to go into the matter. The Sanitary Inspector was directed to make another comprolieuaiva inspection of the borough.
