FEATHERSTON

Featherston is suffering from a dearth of houses to let, and a good many intending residents have been unable to get any kind of a house. Featherston and district are at the present time in a very prosperous condition, and work is plentiful. The growth of the grass on the side streets and on the squares is so heavy that the Town Board has relaxed all impounding restrictions, and the result "is that horses and cattle are seen wandering about in. all directions, and the principal square often resembles a stockyard. A successful concert was given in the Town Hall on Thursday evening by the Featherston Glee Club, and the hall was crowded. ' This club is very original in its arrangements, and the result is that the residents for miles around flock to the concerts. The ' members take part in almost each song, dressed in suitable clothing, and go through dancing, marching, and incidental business that makes the song much more interesting. The dancing for amateurs was far above the average, and reflects the highest credit on Miss Toogood, who trained the performers.
