Some new features in the National Dairy Show prize-list tor June 20. 21, 22. and 25. 1911, are as , follow:—Messrs. Sutlon and Sons, per Messrs. Barraud and Abraham. .Limited, offer a, silver challenge shield lor competition in the collection of farm roota. Messrs. Goddcr and ToUcy, Limitca, oUct prizes of £5 for best collection ol swcdo turnips, 4 roots Champion, 4 roots Eephant, 4 roots John Bull, grown from Hirsts' seeds. Grower must have not less lean one ton of each kind. The association otters £3 in prizes for best 20 moizo cobs grown by exhibitor in Taranaki, Wellington, or Hawko's Bay provinces. In fruit classes the horticultural societies and fruitgrowers' associations will be provided with a special class. Prizes of £3 10s. are offered for coUecHon of f> distinct varieties of apples, ten of each. Tho apples in the ehampion class in future are reo.uired to bo ETOrm and shown by exhibitor. , A new Sass will also appear for'cookmis apples, with prizes of £1 10s: The medals ol the Eoyal Horticultural Society aro offered for ooliectio-ns of apploo. vegetables, and potatoes.
