TheThistlebrook Wharf Labourers' demand was for. an inorease to fivepence an hour, and one and tenpeuce halfpenny for overtime, starting from to-day. Negotiations resulted, in a compromise, the Steamship Owners' Federation conceding the rates cabled yesterday pending a conference at which the claims for increased wages for men working at all the ports in Australia will be submitted.
