MATCHES AT SHIRLEY. 'By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch, November 11. The thirteenth annual match for the Banner and College Shield, played annually between foursomes representing the Christchurch and Otago Golf Clubs, was played on the Shirley links on Saturday. Otago won the Shield by two holes to Canterbury's one. The following are the scores:—Otago: H. C. Smith and R. ,T. Smith, 1; H. A. Salmon and .1. R. Park, 1; C. Turnbull and P. L. Best, I; Otago, total 2. Christchurch: 'iJ. B. Wood and W. Harmau, 1; B. C. Rutherford and P. Trolove, 0; C. K. Sims and J. A. Gow, 1; Christchurch, total 1. In the eleventh competition for the Hosking Campbell Shield, for competition annually between teams representing the Christchurch and Otago Golf Clubs, the match ended in a draw. The following are the scores-.— Otago: H. C. Smith, 0; H. A. Salmon, 0; Turnbull, 1; J. R. Park, 1; R. J. Smith, 1; I<\ L. Best, 0. Total, 3. Christchurch: B. B. Wood, 1; B. C. Rutherford, 1; J. A. Gow, 0; W. T. D. Harman, 0; C. K. Sims, 0; P. Trolove, 1. Total, 3. B. B. Wood won his match fairly easily by 6 up and 5 to piay. Rutherford won by 1 up, and Trolove by 3 up and 1 to play. Turnbull only succeeded in beating Sinis' after a very hard struggle, the southerner winning at the 20th hole.
