BANK OF NEW ZEALAND.
AN IMPORTANT MATTER REVIVED. Notice was given in the House of Representatives on Saturday morning by Mr. James Allen of his intention to; ask the Prime Minister whether or ndt he was correctly reported in Hansard of September 30, 1910, whero it is recorded that he said: "That the oommitteo never got what it wanted in respect of accounts written off the individual creditors of the Bank of New Zealand. Ho had, however,, got the information. He had obtained it in a perfectly legitimate way, as far as he was concerned."
"As such a statement,-if it is a correct report of what the Prime Minister said, is likely to prove injurious to the.Bank of Nov/ Zealand," continued Mr. .Allen, "will the right hon. gentleman take.some steps to remove the harmful impression which may have been created?" The Prime Minister said no harmful impression had been created by the statement ho had made. He had had the information for some years, and did not propose to do anything in the matter.
