BATHING COSTUMES.

' Sir, —The thanks of the parents of Wellington are due- to those five city -councillors who strove for' decency at Lyall Bay. The others who succeeded in rescinding the resolution re bathing costume should now take their wives and daughters there, and see if they relish the disgraceful, exhibitions. The action of the council will lose the trams much revenue, and will ultimately turn the beach into a resort for larrikins. It is a great pity that decent, girls are now barred from tho only paddling beach near Wellington. There" are many better places for men to swim, but none where they can disport themselves in all their indecency, to the everlasting disgrace of our City Fathers. Fathers, indeed!!!— I am, etc., . . THE STRANGER.
