MOUNT LYELL RETURNS.
-« HALF-YEARLY MEETING. By Telecraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, November 11. At the half- yearly meeting (if tho Mount Lyell Company the report showed that tho net profits amounted to £90,000, a decrease of £25,000 compared with tho last half year. Tho decrease was due to a lower average rate for copper and a falling-off in the grade of oro in several of tho leading stopos. This falling-off is officially believed to be only temporary. Dividend and bonus distributions totalled £105,000, and surplus of liquid assets £405,-120. The monthly return shows that from October 6 to November 2 the company treated 26,G70 tons of ore: Tho converters produced 547 tons of blister copper, containing 540 tons of copper, 49,355 ounces of silver, and 609 ounces of gold.
