TRAMWAY DEMANDS.
A .CONFEEENCE. Following on the united action of trarawaymen throughout tho Dominion and their formulation . of proposals for a .Dominion tramways award, the municipalities, and other bodies concerned are. preparing to take similar concerted action. The Town Clerk of Wellington, iU'r. J. E. Palmer, lias been instructed by tne Mayor- to convene a conference of the bodies concerned, to meet at Wellington about the end of the'week- after next. Two representatives will be invited to ittend from each tramway--district, to discuss tho terms of the proposed award. The Wellington award expired, apart from its continuance by agreement, on October IS, 1910. Tho Auckland award continues in force until. February 27, 1911. The Christchuroh award is dated to June 30, 1911, and the Dunedin award expivcs'on November 1, 1911.
