SYDNEY WHARF LABOURERS
A NEW AWARD. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright. (Rec. November 9, 9.35 p.m.) ■' , ' Sydney, November 9.' The Deep Sea Wharf Labourers' Wages Hoard lias given its award. The employers, who were tho applicants, asked tor a reduction in wagevbut the award leaves th'o wages,as before,.except that it grants £2 Ss. weekly to permanent hands ii they have a twelve months'' engagement guaranteed. If the men are engaged to work in specified distant parts of the harbour time is to be taken from the wharf, and calculated from the embarking to the returning. The evidence showed that 1200 mea were required to carry on the industry.
