It is ofEcially announced that ViceAdmiral George King-Hall, C.V.0., will succeed: Vice-Admiral Sir Eichard Poore as Commander-in-Cbief. on the Australian Station. . • • Admiral King-Hall is sixty years of age, and is. a son of tho late Admiral Sir William King-Hall. He entered the Navy in 18G3, end became captain in IS9I, and rear-admiral in 1901. For a time he was British Commissioner at Weihaiwei, and later ho was Chief of Staff to Admiral Sir John Fisher on the Mediterranean Station. Ho served for a time as Assistant-Secretary to the Admiral commanding the 'R6sorvo,. and; from- 1906 to

1908 was Admiral Commanding on the coast of Ireland. He married, in 1902, Olga, daughter of Mr. Richard Kcr, formerly of tho Diplomatic Service, and afterwards M.P. for Downpatrick. .There are one son and two' daughters.
