' ' The Oamaru branch of the Amalgamated Society of-Railway Servants last night, unanimously'adopted, the following resolution:—"This ' branch of tho imalgamated Society .of Railway Ser/ants emphatically; protests against the . proposed recognition of the Drivers' and I'lreniens Association upon the grounds, as stated by the chairman of the Rail- ■ way-Parliamentary Committee, that it ivould be detrimental to the best interests of. the employees as a. whole, and also to the Department, as it would ,inrolve a further loss.in tinio and money in multiplying conferences, etc.; and last, J but not,least, that there is not theslightest necessity for a separate society for .. : the Locomotive.
