CORIOUS CONDITION OF HOS- . • PITAL PATIENT. , A woman patient at St. 'Mary's' Hospital (England) is defying all tho conventions of nature by living quite comfortably with her. heart on the right siflo. -..'■" The condition was discovered .juite accidentally on her applying at the hospital for treatment for dizziness. On examination it was found that she was suffering from a largo aneurism of the main vessel leading from the heart, as well as a smaller aneurism of the carotid artery of tho. neck. To determine the extent of the aneurism in the chest an X-rays photograph was taken which showed that the heart, instead of being in its normal position, was-on the right side-of the body. Over the usual heart area whero ordinarily ono can feel tho heart heat there is perfect resonance on percussion. Percussion (tapping with the fingers) shows that instead of solid heart substanco underlying tho lungs have, filled up tho heart's accustomed space. On tho right side of tho breast hone, just where tho X-rays photograph shows tho heart to bo, tho hoart beat is plainly visible Despite- the grave nature, cf hor arterial disease the patient enjoyed ordinary good healtn most of her life, and is in no way unset by tlitf fact that her heart is in a different position from that of ordinary mortals.
