South Australia was continued to-day in warm weather, the attendance numbering about 2000. The wicket was fast, but wore as play progressed. . The not-outs overnight, Nourso and Schwarz, continued their innings. They batted brilliantly, putting on 50 runs in 25 minutes. , Schwarz reached his half, century in 48 minutes, and when tho seventh wicket fell, 114 runs had been put on in 56 minutes. Schwarz's score included one 6 and six 4's. Seven wickets for 466. ■. . : Vogler's wicket fell 'first ball, and Nourso knocked'l6 off one over by Whitty just before completing his second century. The wholo innings lasted 5 hours 45 minutes. Nourse batted for five hours. Ho gave seven chances, ono at 31, and another at 39. He' hit 22 fours. He began defensively, but finished vigorously,his hitting "being hard . and clean. Crawford bowled well but unluckily, and tho fielding was poor. As the Soutli Africans leave for Melbourne to-morrow, and only 5 hours 50 minutes remained to play, the South Australians' chance of winning was regarded as hopeless. Zschorn began nicely, but at 34, ho was caught at slip. Clem Hill was uneasy with tho "googlies," and when he was five he was'missed at slip off Schwarz. Next over ho was very easily stumped. Three for 52. At 65 Crawford was caught off a sharp • return to Vogler, and five runs later Schwarz held a not return by S. Hill. Schwarz, at midon, then missed a warm chance by Gehrs .' off Vogler. Pegler relieved . Schwarz and bowled Chamberlain with a bailer.- . After the tea adjournment* Vogler and Schwarz bowled. Gehrs hit off 25 in ten minutes and then ran out and was bowled with the score at 156. Roes was bowled at 164, and ten runs later Whitty was caught on the boundary. CENTRAL CLUB'S SMOKE CONS' . ..CERT. ' At the Hotel Windsor last night the Wellington Central Cricket Club held a very successful'smoke concert to celebrate the occasion of their winning the senior and junior championships of 1909-10. Mr. W. Burbidge occupied the chair,', in.-the unavoidable absence of Mr ; '.'B 1 - M. B. Fisher, president of the club. The first part of tbo proceedings consisted of the inevitable supper which Host Hardcastle provided. During the course of the evening many toasts were honoured, the. chief among these being "The Wellington Cricket Association," "Central Club," "Kindred Clubs," "The Ladies," "Tho Visitors," and "The Press." A number of those present enlivened tho proceedings with song and story, included among these being Messrs. Fitzgerald, Archer! W. H. Sisson, Manderson, R. Mason Buckingham, Benge, Tinney, Twohill' Bay, and Brookes. '
