TWENTY-SEVENTH WEEK. The result of the twenty-seventh week's operations at the- Papanui egg-laving competition are,very interesting. For'some week's Thomson's white leghorns and Kennedy's silver wyandottes have been holding .■ the first and second positions well ahead of. all opposition. The latest returns show that the positions of the leaders is far from secure, and already Kennedy's wyandottes have been almost caught up to, aid .Thomson's • leghorns have had their lead much reduced. W. Balch's pen of white leghorns has come forward to within one of Kennedy's entry, and a score of 38 during the week has brought W. Knight's leghorns to within two of Kennedy's second-place pen.
