THE NEW COURT OATH.

FORMULA AND PROCEDURE.

A new form .of oath, as provided in the Oaths' Act, was introduced in the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. This does away with the old practice of kissing tho Book. Witnesses are now merely required to hold the Bible in the right hand, while the following words are repeated to them, "You swear by Almighty God that the evidence given by yon ill tho. caso before the Court will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." At the conclusion of these words the witness answers "I .do" and proceeds to give evidence.
