The'final stag© in tho Crippen murder, caso was reached yesterday, when Crippen's appeal from tho verdict given again him in tho Criminal Court on October 21 for tho murdor of his wifo came up for hearing. - The ground of appeal was that tho identity of tho corpse found in the cellar at Crippon's residence, 39 Hilldrop Crescent, Camden, had not been established, and that tho Crown's evidence in rebuttal of prisoner's defence had boen wrongly admitted. Mr. Tobin, K.C., counsel for Crippen, explained that he had roturned his brief through a misunderstanding, which had been responsible for the delay in the hearing of the appeal. After Mr. Tobin had addressed the Court on prisoner's behalf for -four hours and a half, the Bench dismissed the appeal after a retirement of ten minutes. • ':.'■'
