GREAT RECEPTION AT AUCKLAND.' (By. Telegraph— Press Association.) . Auckland, November 6. The Wanganui Band, which returned from Australia by the Maheno to-day, had a great reception. As the steamer oame alongside the wharf, -the band played "Lead Kindly Light,". "-"Home, Sweet Home," and, escorted by three of the city bands, marched up; Queen Street. This afternoon the band gave an open-air performance on the Takapuna Racecourse, an enormous crowd assembling to hear them,. : ' To-night they give a concert in the Opera House and to-morrow a civic reception is to be accorded them.
