WILL MR, LUKE EXPLAIN?
Sir,—l notice by to-day's issue of your paper that Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P., in the House has raised the question of harbour boards supporting local industries in preference to sending their orders out' of the Dominion, in this I-think ho acted rightly, but I should like this honourable rnombor to explain why he supported the importing by the Wellington City Council of somo thousands of pounds worth of tramcars, and if I mistake not ho either proposed or seconded the motions.—l am, etc., LOCAL INDUSTRY.
