Rain liaa fallen about East Cape and Gisborne, and in the southernmost districts, but tho'weather has been fair to 'cloudy elsewhere. A low-pressure area is passing away eastward of East Capo, while another westerly area is advancing towards the South Island. > Present indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather, and rain probably following shortly in most , parts, of the country.. The barometer will probably fall everywhere soon, especially in the south, and the winds change to. freshening northerlies in most parts of the country, but especially southward of New .Plymouth and Napier.
