DISCONTENTED WORKERS.
THE CO-OPERATIVE SYSTEM.
Three workers from the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway have called at the "Herald" office and made complaints as to tlio carrying out. of the co-operative works' on this line by the engineers and inspectors. _ They state that after having been' given a price they have been deprived of the full results of their labour hy the working measurements being made by the engineers. They also allege that officers employed- by the. Government own teams of horses and other plant used in connection with the works, and' that, this is'contrary to the-reculations.- Another complaint, is to the effect that sectarian influence is. at work, and that workers of the wrong colour earn only 4s. or os.' a day.. .Their remarks generally are a sweeping, indictment of the co-operative system as carried out on tho North Auckland liii©, and they allege that the discontent is widespread.
