ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A SUDDEN DEATH. Mr, Francis Whiteman, an old resident of the Hutt Valley, died at. llungaroa on Wednesday morning, aged 59 years: Heturning home on Tuesday evening from Akatarawa, in order to attend the wedding of one of his daughters on the following day, Mr, WJiiteman was seized, it. is supposed,'-with a paralytic fit, and thrown from his horse. Picked up nnconscious, he remained in that state until death occurred some hours later. An inquest was not considered necessary. Mr. Whiteman was well known among residents of the Hutt Valley,'- of which district his father, the late Mr. George Whiteman, was one of the pioneer settlers. A brother is Mr. John Whitemap, chairman of the Hutt County Council. Jack Lauder, a boy, residing at G Hugh Street, had the misfortune, to break his arm yesterday, and was sent to the hospital for treatment. i A young man named Robert Dennatt,' aged 17,' was admitted to the hospital at S o'clock last night, suffering from a broken leg.
