An election to fill the vacancy of the Borough Council caused by the resignation of Councillor Westlake, who resigned as a protest against the council adjourning a few weeks' ago to attend the final service in connection with the Anglican Mission, was held to-day. Mr. Westlake wae again nominated. The result was as follows: — J. Osburne-Lilly, 141; Westlake, 116.
