GARRISON OFFICERS' CLUB.
The Garrison Officers'. Club, closed its. session on Monday evening,, when tho lecturers were Captain A. A. Corrigan and Lieutenant-Colonel E. W. O. Chaytor. The former gave , a very interesting description of tho Battle of tho Yalu, whilst-Colonel Chaytor took for his snbject "The Necessity of Preparation and Training for War." A hearty vote of thanks was accorded tho lecturers for their valuable addresses. The attendanco throughout the session has been very -good, and the syllabus arranged has been of great educational value apart from the social quality of tho gatherings. ' ." In lieu of tho Garrison Officers' Club ball this year, it has been decided to hold, a garrison officers' mess dinner during this month, and a sub-committee consisting of Lieutenant-Colonel Duthie, 'Captain Harcourt Turner, aud Captain S. Tra-sk are making the necessary arrangements.
