MINING NEWS.
WELLINGTON SHAREMARKET. The mining market was exceedingly quiet yesterday. A little excitement was provided in the morninsr by a sudden jump in Waihi Grand Junctions, some favourable development sending the shares up to 355., and a sale was actually mado at the midday call at 345. 9d. In the afternoon the shares receded to 325. 3d., the development proving not to be so good as was anticipated. The only other transaction recorded was that of Ross Goldfields at 2s. Bid.,-a,t the midday, cnll. The Exchange received the following telegram from the Old Ilauraki Company:—"Crushed 90 tons quartz and 1301b. picked stone for 1720z. gold." Talismans and Waihis were both steady, and New Sylvias wero rather firmer. The quotations were as under:—
