SUPERANNUATION.
AN INTERESTING CASE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Chrlstchurch, November 1. A case of interest to Civil Servants, and especially to members of the police force whoso service had not been continuous, .was before Mr. Justice Sim at the Supreme Court in Banco to-day. when Josoph Albert M'Grath (Mr. T. G. Russell) proceeded ou an originating summons against ,the Minister for Internal Affairs (Mr. Ostler, of the Crown Law Offico) claiming the right to date his service for superannuation purposes from' June 6, 1878. A Mr- Russell stated that Sub-Inspector MJjratk joined the service on Juno 6, 1878, and continued in' it • till May 0 1882, and rejoined it on December 2', 1882. He had, therefore, had a break of four months and a half, and the question was whether when he got his pension lie Would be'able to add tho two discontinuous periods of his service together and have his pension computed from June 6,. 1878, or whether ho was bound to take it as from December 2, 1882. After hearing argument, his Hoiiour reserved judgment*
