WEST COASTERS' ASSOCIATION

—— A large gathering of the West Coasters' Association took place last night in.the Druids' Hall, .Taranaki Street. The Hon. R. M'Kenzie (president of tlio Association) was present. Mr. -P. M'Parland occupied . the chair, . and among the ex-West 1 " Coasters" present were: the Hon. Dr. Eindlay, Mrs. Seddon and family, Messrs. G. W. Russell, A. Dillon, J. v. Brown, M.P.'s, Martin Kennedy, and O'Connor. Apologies were road from his Excellency' the Governor, Sir Joseph Ward, tho Hons. J. Carroll and J. A. Millar, and Mr. D. JL Evans (County Chairman of Westland), the Rev. Father Walshe (Lower Hutt), and_ others. During tho evening the chairman gave an address, stating that there were 220 active financial members of the association. Dr. Findlay, the Hon. R. M'Kenzie, Messrs. G. W. Russell, J. V. Brown, T. Seddon, M.P.'s, M. O'Connor, and J. J, M'Grath also spoke. The . secretary (Mr. , Carl Pfaff), to,whose efforts the success of the association is largely due, moved a vote of' thanks to the chairman and members of Parliament. During the evening a number of vocal items were contributed by Messrs. Robinson, Dykes, Hobson, Hickmott, and others, also a Highland dance by the two Misses Reid. About fifty couples took the floor lor dancing. . .
