MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

— ■ ——o ■ The Missions to Seamen Institute was well filled on . evening, when a capital concert was provided by mombers' of the staff of the, Wellington Gas Company. Mr. James Moore, the missioner, occupied the chnir. The following contributed items to the programme:— Pianoforte: Mesdames Stevens, Ingerton, Misses Hamilton, Shaw, Christie, Messrs. Kershaw, Young, Ellison, Potter, MT3onald, and Master Christie. Mrs. Stevens and Miss , Christie played the accompaniments. Several popular choruses were sung by the audience, Mrs. Stevens playing the accompaniments. During a short interval ■the missioner delivered an earnest temperance address, this resulting in several men taking the pledge. The performers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion, and light refreshments were dispensed.
