ENTERTAINMENTS.
THEATRE ROYAL. Messrs. Fullers' vaudeville company was accorded a warm reception last evening at the Theatre Royal. Olive Sayer, the juvenile ballad singer, was* heard to advantage in "Will You Love Me in l)e----ceuibor as in May," and had to respond to a recall. Fred. Backs, Scott Gibson, and Albert Mather all contributed bright items. Tlioso popular song and dance artists, tho two Bosebuds, in their original song scene "Can You Keep a Secret," met with generous applause. Horace Dentice, a juvenile performer, gives a good Tendering of "Never Was a Married Man." Among the "stars" of the programme is Miss Beryl Gilinan. a New Zealand soprano, whoso singing of "Just Idle Dreams" and "Together" made the audience call .for an encore. Gray and Graham's pantomime sketch "The Musical Boy" was ono of the features of .the evening. A number of biograph films are included in the programme which' make the entertainment a very enjoyable one. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The films exhibited' for the ftvst time at His Majesty's Theatre on Wednesday night- drew a well-filled house last evening, and the . audience demonstrated its pleasure at the excellent selection provided. "Scenes of British India," wTiich give a lasting impression of that part of the Empire, and "Subiaco," a series of views taken in a. town in Turkey, are some of the scenic, films, to see which is an educational treat. The comic element figures prominently in "Tontolini'e Somersaults," "The Family. Fend," and a number of others, ail being received by the audience with marked approval. The dramatic items are of a high order, particularly "Lieutenant Rose and the Stolen Submarine," and the "Watchman's Daughter." To-night the same films will be shown again. ' -'■,'• KING'S THEATRE. The usual large audience was present last night' at tho King's Theatre, when the new batch of films, that met with such high appreciation when shown on Wednesday night, was put on the screen a second time._ West's weekly gazette is full of interesting.items such as the "Arrival of the Dutch Squadron at Sydney, and in Port Melbourne," "Hockey Matches at Sydney," and this year's Labour Day procession at Auckland.--The scenic subjects include views of Venice, the city of canals. The comic items were heartily appreciated. -A number of dramatic pictures are also on the bill, and are of a very interesting character. This programme will be gone through every night this week. ' : . STAR PICTURES. ■ The Star Pictures at Newtown ' are proving an exceedingly popular entertainment. Last night St. Thomas's Hall was well filled, and the various films were wound oft to the complete satisfaction of those present:.' The. same . pictures will be. shown throughout the week."
To-idght the' annual social gatliering of the West. Coasters' Association-will-be held .at the Druids' Hall, Taranaki Street. . This year's function .promises to eclipse the previous one' of the committee, and a large gathering is expected. The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph- Ward) and a large number of members of the House will, if Parliamentary duties permit, be present during the evening.:
