EX-NAVALS ASSOCIATION.

A 'successful smoke concert was held by members of the Wellington ex-Navals' Association at the Boat ■ Station, . Jervois Quay, last night, in honour of Mr. B. T. Taylor's return from the Old Country. Mr. Rabe was in the chair. Mr. Taylor, accompanied by his wife, returned from the Old ' Country on the Orient steamship Orontes, and transhipped from Sydney ,on the Moana, which arrived, here last Wednesday. Ho has been away nearly seven months, .and during that time has travelled throughout England, Ireland, Scotland,, and , Wales. Owing to the Navy League dinner, held in Wellington last night, several exmombers were unable to be present. A brief financial statement of the work of the association showed a, donation of .£l6 4s. last month, and, for the sale of tickets for a concert and dance, the sum of £21 7s. Gd. By this they, were able to hand over to a widow the sum of ,£43 lis. Cd. By the first benefit which the association organised some five or six years ago, they' were able _ to givo .£23, and a second widow received £M. A joint subscription has been raised for the erection of a tombstone for a late member of tho company. Songs, etc., from several of tho ex-membors present, were given during tho evening. . i
