AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

•ANNUAL; REPORT. ; ' - The. annual report of the Wellington Centre of the New' Zealand • Amateur Athletic Association- says that- the.j number of clubs at, present affiliated to the centre is. larger than in any previous year. There are now 17-.affiliated clubs, of which seven aro new clubs formed since the last annual report, while a new club is being formed at Mastertoh. The new clubs are:— Manawatu A.A. Club, Southern Hawke's Bay Public Schools A.A. Club,. Woodville A.A. Club, Brooklyn Harriers, Hawera A.A. • Club, New Plymouth A.A. Club,-and Hutt .Re* creation A.A. Club. During tho season four clubs ceased to exist, viz., Y.M.C.A. A.A. Club, Hutt Valley A.A. Club, Wanganui Christ Church ' A.A. Club, and Nelson A.A. Club.The report dwells on tho programmo of events held during last season, including the Marathon race, tho Wellington and Now Zealand championship meetings, and gives the recommendation of tho last confereiioo of centres. During tho. season Mr. J. 11. Pollock resigned his seat on. tho council as a representative of the .Wellington Centre, and Mr. F. Ross was. appointed in his place, .i'The-proposal amendments to the rules havo now been submitted to the various centres, and will bo discussed at the annual meeting. Tho centre expresses its appreciation of the work done by tho council in the cause of amateur athletics during tho past season. Tho statoraent of receipts and expenditure, shows a credit of £4 Os. lid., and the balance of assets over liabilities is shown as £29 6s. lQd. Tho annual meeting is to bo held at tho Cycling Club's rooms on Mon--1 day next (October 31).

BOWLS. . ■HAITAITI V. KHANDALLAH. A very interesting game was played on tho Wellington green betwecin teams from the two now clubs, viz., Haitaiti and Khandallah, skipped respectively by Messrs. Laurinson and Davy, Khandallah just winning by tho baro mar jority of: one point. NEWTOWN. Thore was a largo attendance on the Newtown green, all tho rinks being fully occupied.
